AL1s SECURE BIG WIN

The Men’s AL1 side went into Saturday’s home game against a much fancied Manly Vale looking to register their first Careel Bay win of the season. At the end of the game they had done exactly that, coming from behind to win 2-1.
Manly Vale had the better of the early exchanges and went 1-0 up around the 20 minute mark. This seemed to be a lightbulb moment for the lads who after the goal started controlling and maintaining possession and this combined with the pressing of the Manly Vale defence, started to make inroads. Rob Fleming’s side created a number of chances which ultimately led to Jack Murata scoring his 2nd of the season just before half time.
In the second half the team took another step forward and repeatedly managed to cut through Manly Vale’s midfield and create a number of chances which resulted in Elliot Green coming off the

SCHOOL HOLIDAY CAMP

The first of our school holiday camps kicks off tomorrow (Monday) from 9am-12pm on Field 2 at Careel Bay.

Please bring sunscreen, water and wear appropriate football clothing.

SENIORS KICK OFF 2021

After a long pre-season, the action finally starts tonight for Avalon Soccer Club as we hit the kick off of the 2021 season.
Our O35/5s will be the first team in action as they take on Seaforth at Seaforth Oval from 7pm. Saturday sees Careel Bay get it’s first action of the year with the mens AL1 season opener against Wakehurst. Under coach Rob Fleming, the team are out to build on a solid mid-table finish last year and you can come down to support the boys from 1pm for the reserves curtain raiser and 3pm for the main game.
At the same time on Careel Bay 2, the AL3s face local rivals Pittwater from 1pm with the 045/3s wrapping up the day against Forest at 3. Our 45/1s and 2s are on the road at Curl Curl and BTH respectively, and the AL2s start their year at St Matthews against Manly

COACHING COURSES AT CAREEL NEXT WEEK!

To mark the start of the season, the MWFA are holding a number of fun, informative, interactive & confidence building coaching courses right here at Careel Bay!
Game Leader – 6pm-7pm Thu 8 Apr 
MWFA is pleased to again offer a number of FREE Game Leader workshops for parents of ALDI MiniRoos who are willing to help out in this role on match day, or who might be willing to if armed with a bit of knowledge and guidance on what being a Game Leader involves. These courses run for approximately 60 minutes and will cover the rules, practical scenarios and provide Q&A opportunities.
Note that these courses are free of charge, however, we do ask that attendees register and be punctual to avoid delaying the start of the course, or to avoid missing out on key information at the beginning.

2020 GRADING

Junior grading for the upcoming 2020 season will take place at Careel Bay across two Sundays in February.
Age groups 14-16 will grade on SUNDAY 16th FEBRUARY with age groups 10-14 on SUNDAY 23rd FEBRUARY.
The full grading timetable can be found HERE.
Grading is mandatory for all players in these age groups as per MWFA guidelines, and the grading results play a significant role in ensuring players are in suitable teams and teams are in the appropriate divisions for competition. For returning players the coaches report from the 2019 season will also be used to evaluate the appropriate level.

Players must arrive with boots, shin pads, sunscreen and plenty of water. Players will register upon arrival at the clubhouse, be briefed on the activities and then take part in a series of skills and small sided games.

2020 INFORMATION DAY SATURDAY

Head down to Careel Bay this Saturday, 8th February for an annual Registration/Junior information Day.
We’ll be there from 9am – 3pm to answer all your questions on the season ahead, assist with any registration issues, and provide advice on everything you need to know for season 2020, with many of our committee members on hand all day.

2020 REGISTRATION IS OPEN

We are delighted to announce that registration for the 2020 season is now open. Head to https://playfootball.com.au/ to register!! We can’t wait to welcome you to The Bay this year!
A reminder that all returning players must use their existing FFA/Play football details when registering at https://www.playfootball.com.au/
Before you begin to register please check the table below to see what paperwork you need to supply. Missing information will delay your registration process and may prevent you from playing at the beginning of the season.

Will be held at our club house at Careel Bay on Saturday 8th February 9:00am – 3:00pm.
If you have any questions about playing with Avalon (or would just like to meet us) then come along. The uniform store will be open on this day for any of your kit needs.
