PRE-SEASON OFF TO A WET AND WINNING START

On a weekend that saw most activities washed out, we managed to sneak a couple of pre-season games in on Sunday against Dunbar Rovers.

Yes it was wet but the synthetic field at Easts Rugby Club was brilliant and Dunbar great hosts.

Avalon had a 2-0 win in w14 and 3-2 win in w18’s. Both very close and competitive matches, and we thank Dunbar for their hospitality, and we look forward to returning the favour and seeing you down at The Bay.

MINIROOS COACHING

MWFA are once again offering everyone the chance to take part in some specialised Miniroos coaching courses throughout March.

These courses are designed for coaches/managers/volunteers and even parents involved with age groups U6-U11.

The 3-hour course is fully practical and encourages the coach to develop practices that are based on FUN. The emphasis is on natural development i.e. learning by PLAYING football. No coaching but organising FUN football exercises is the key to helping players build a love for the game. Another highlight of the course is that the coaches are exposed to basic rules of the game as well as tips and hints on building a football culture in a completely practical setting.

The ALDI MiniRoos Certificate is FREE OF CHARGE for all participants, but online registration is still compulsory.

For full course details and the chance to register head here http://www.mwfa.com.au/2019/02/new-courses-available-community-coaching-courses-2019/
